Barclay NFL card 2X points

FYI

NFL card holders I got this offer this morning and wanted to share looks like Barclay is experimenting with categories

Use your Bears Extra Points MasterCard October 1 through December 31, 2013 and earn 2 bonus points for every $1 you spend—up to 2,500 bonus points—on purchases you make every day in the following categories¹:

 Gas Station purchases

• Department, Toy or Game store purchases

Best of all, this is in addition to the points you already earn for using your card every day.

You must activate this offer by October 20, 2013 to earn your bonus points!
Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

So, is that 3% cash back? 2% bonus in addition to the 1% you already earn?

Re: Barclay NFL card 2X points

Haven't gotten an email yet, but YAY! I was going to SD after BT to Chase since my 0% APR is over next month and APR is 20+%. My DH was just approved for $750 yesterday (mid-score 627). And it's his first unsecured approval. So he'll be happy about the rewards, too!

Starting Scores: (4/16/12 lender pull) TU 596 | EX 550 | EQ 576
Current Score (9/3/15): Wally TU 639 | Amex EX 628 | DCU EQ 639
Goals: Homeowner as of 9/27/2013. Last app 8/1/15. TU-5; EX-16; EQ-13. Aiming for ZERO inqs.

Re: Barclay NFL card 2X points

I called Barclays about not receiving this offer yet. They told me this offer has been going out since July in email batches and I "should" be getting the offer this month. I could not get an answer when asked if all accounts in good standing are eligible for this promotion though.....

Cool, I got the same e-mail last week. Too bad the department stores part is coming on the beginning of Chase/Discover 5% promos. Took my card out of the SD and put it in the "rarely used" part of my wallet next to my Walmart card. Barclays, you're moving up...

Amex BCE ($15k), TE ($5k), BoA BBR ($600), Cash Rewards ($600), Barclays Sallie Mae ($6k), CapOne Quicksilver ($4k), Chase Freedom ($5.8k), CSP ($11k), Marriott (9k), IHG (12k), DCU ($6k), Discover IT ($6.5k)
TU - 4 INQ, EX - 7 INQ, EQ - 3 INQ

I like the 3% on gas deal until the end of the year and right on time since Discover's 5% just ended.

I was all set to use my FNBO for 2% gas but not nowSmiley Happy
