They offer it from time to time. The standard offer is 30K miles. If you plan on using the miles anytime soon, go for it.

Over the past 3 or 4 years, there has always been backdoor links to Citi AA 50K offers, even when it's only 30K on their website. Now, there are no assurances this will continue, especially once the honeymooon period has passed with the AA/US merger.
So, if you need it, I'd get it now, since there's basically 0 chance of ever seeing the 100K offers again in our lifetime.
Open, are you going to try for a 2nd card?

I just called in and lady did it for me, so was one of best deals for me. I use that card to get aa points since better Apr and cl than my citi aa cardMines the opposite. Barclays gave me 22.9% APR while I just got 13.9% with the Citi. Go figure
i guess was because was my first citi card but i got 22.99 % and only 6k CL . Weird. Us airways was my first barclays card and i got twice the CL and 15.99 i think for apr i forget too many cards to remember all the aprs lol

Yes, absolutely.
I'm waiting to get close to the expiation date to maximize the time passed. If declined with an SP since I already have one, no risk to app whatsoever. Even with a HP on TU, I find it well worth the price.

when did you get your last one ? I am thinking about doing a double whammy of citi aa business and another us airways barclays card. Am i being really greedy ?

Good idea. I think I'll go with that plan as well. Well worth any downside of an HP

My last was in Nov.
I think you're fine. It's the same strategy I've used. App for the US Air every 6 months, and Bus AA every 90 days. I'll keep doing it, until they stop it.

Right, absolutely nothing to lose. Even if declined, while there's ample evidence a recon won't work, I will still call and give the legitimate reason of separating my business expenditures.
And, if they refuse? So what. No HP, and I've spent 5 minutes on my cell phone on my way to buy an overpriced Starbucks coffee.
I applied and was approved for the Citi card. I have a major addiction. But 100k miles will be nice. Does anyone know if we can downgrade this card after the first year to another non AF card?
