Barclay ring or Citi DC for balance transfer

I want to BT $5000 

Currently I have a Barclay Cash Forward with $1300 Bt used $5,000 Cl   this account is 10 months old

I have no Citi cards or accounts of any type

my credit score is around 745 on all 3 FICOs

I have 11% total Util no derogs 9 Inqs

To me the barclays is the obvious choice 0% fee 0% apr for 15  months making easy payments of $350 and its done with at the end of the offer.

But I wonder if Barclay will hold back or at least give me a crap SL because I already have an account with them

Hello OP, you and I are in the same boat. I needed to BT about $6500 and was worried that Barclay wouldn't give me a good SL because I have the Rewards CC with a SL of $1300. Our scores are also comparable. I've had my Rewards card for just over 2yrs and most of my other CCs are significantly higher, so that may have factored into it, but I got a Ring with a SL of $12,500. If you can't get a SL high enough on one CC, I would suggest doing two CCs. That's what I thought I was going to have to do and I chose Slate and Ring (in that order) because they both offer a $0 BT fee. I didn't get the Slate because of the 5/24 rule, but was fortunate to not need to spread my debt over two CCs. Good luck whichever route you chose, and keep us posted!

Well I got the 30 day message were they are going to review the account

I paniced and applied for the Citi DP and got instant approved for $5600

so hopefully the BT works out with that card

it would be nice if I end up getting the Barclay ring card though but I doubt it.

Congrats on your approval! If you aren't denied, then you can split the BT over the two CCs. If you are denied initially, don't be afraid to recon. Good luck!
