Just wondering if it's better to call or hit the Luv button. I know a while back, people were saying to stay away from Barclay's Luv button, but I want to ask for a CLI. I get really nervous about talking to a rep and having to answer their questions. Not sure why to say I want the CLI, except to help w/my util, which wouldn't be a good answer to give them!
Any have better or worse luck with phone vs. online? Any suggestions as to what to say for the reason? I have $5k and would like $10k. I currently have a 0% promotional rate bal w/them of $3k.
Thanks for your help!

I'd call, from what I've read the results seem to be better, either way it will result in a HP. One thing though, you have to have your cc for at least 6 months before they will even consider a cli.

Every time I have called them on the phone for CLI I have gotten what I asked for. I went from 1500 -> 2800 -> 4000 -> 6000.
Except a few weeks ago I decided to try through the web site, 6000 -> 8500, and got rejected. They probably don't like the fact that I have gotten a high limit CU card since the last CLI from them in May (and the Duck hasn't reported yet, I suppose they will throw fits when they see that.) I feel like I am in their doghouse for a while, so I better be good.

Thanks for the replies. Not quite sure what to do.
If I call, what would be a good reason to give them for wanting the CLI? Do they usually ask that?
(This is the Barclay's MC.)

For all of the *many* times I have called to request CLI (all with different banks / stores / backers), no one has ever asked me why I was requested the increase. When you call, they may ask you to verify some info - and then ask you what they can do to help you. All you have to say is I would like to request a credit limit increase on my account. They will say "Ok, I will be very happy to assist you with that". You may or may not have to go through a verification of address / employer / income - but I have never been asked to give reason for the request.
I say go for it! And good luck! Let us know!

@chewchowlady, I have been asked why I wanted the CLI by some banks/CUs, so I guess it depends.
