Re: Barclay's Product Change?

Got ya, remember the intreast rate is pretty high on the apple card so you probably would not want to carry a balance very long

Re: Barclay's Product Change?

hey every one thanks so much for the response. I'll pay the whole thing off in 3 months so hopefully that will earn some trust with Barclay's. I feel alot better after hearing everyones opinion. The interest rate is really high (22%) so I'll make sure I pay off a lot of it right away. This is the first real vacation I'll be going on in many years. I owe so much to MyFico.

Re: Barclay's Product Change?

I understand the concern with Barclays, but I believe you to be over cautious!  Smiley Happy  I have spoken with the Analyst at Barclays Bank and they tell me that they want you to use the card.  The key to developing a good relationship with them is making strong payments on time, not exceeding your limits and not going on app sprees.  (that last one is a biggy) It looks like you are actively seeking credit and they get nervous because the credit they have extended you is what they felt you could handle at the time and seeking more means the possibility that you may not be able to repay if something comes up.  They are proactive to losing money so thus the many threads regarding closures and CLD because of apping after getting their card.

Use your card frequently and within the limit and always pay on time and with good healthy payments and you will be good.

Have a GREAT vacation!

It all depends on what card you have.  Siggy Visas and World MCs likely will go higher than the Platinum editions.

Re: Barclay's Product Change?

There's no reason to believe that using their card would result in card closure.  Use the sucker!  Pay it off as fast as you can if you don't have 0%.  These companies want us to use their cards, hehe.  Smiley Wink
