Barclay's Ring Card question

Now that Ring card been out a while. I remember the card was supposed to be the "social network" card where members could somehow group decide on features etc. I never got one but curious how it turned out. Did cardholders really ever get to add/remove features? Or was it some kind of marketing gimmick that didn't mean such. I kind of remember the card as a Chase Slate (ie no features but low apr) with the social angle that may or may not mean anything.

Sounds like crickets to me Crashem... lol.   I was always curious too whether this product sized-up as expected for Barclays.

Re: Barclay's Ring Card question

It just seems overly complicated...i doubt it has really caught on like the majority of social networks, etc.

Re: Barclay's Ring Card question

I'm a member. They've collected a lot of feedback but there have been no major changes yet. Mostly debate over FTF, card graphic/type, chip/pin, occasionally rewards, fees, paperless, etc

As far as I'm concerned it's pretty much a gimmick.  The community has a few vocal participants and a handful of people complaining about CLs, and a handful praising the card for nothing special. I'm a CL complainer FWIW Smiley Happy It continues to be my lowest line at 3K (started at 500), took 6 months waiting no auto CLI, 1 long call ending in denial, and a second call for recon.

It's a decent product but far from worthwhile IMO.

Re: Barclay's Ring Card question

So basically 8% apr card? Which is nice for major lender.

Re: Barclay's Ring Card question

Yes. 8% APR with no bt fee is basically how I'm treating the card. The only other nice perk is $1 fee for cash advance instead of % like other banks, but I'm pretty sure most people would never cash advance except in extreme emergency without a debit card.

Re: Barclay's Ring Card question

I mainly got it for the 8%, a plus for me is CLI every 6 months. I was turned down for the card initially got it on reconsideration. 2 HP I didn't like, but nice to have a low interest card to carry a balance for emergency car repairs etc.
