Congrats!  I've actually thought about doing this as well but in reverse, closing Arrival and putting that 5k towards SM and closing my Visa Rewards and putting that on SM as well.  Giving me an almost 10K Sallie card.  Glad you got what you needed out of the deal!

Ok so it's confirmed that you can transfer credit limits from a new Barclays account to an older card? I remember hearing that Barlcays will only allow you to transfer from an old account to the new one. I guess that's as dead as the "Smorgasbord" section.

I've done this before.

Initially got an Arrival Plus with $7.5k limit, and they wouldn't budge a bit higher. Could not get them to give me a dime more.

A month later I applied for the US Airways (this was last May/June) and instant approved for $11k.

Immediately transfered half the US Airways to the Arrival Plus, and just got CLI this weekend on both.
