Barclay's "10 Day Message", What Happens?

I received a 10 day message after applying for Barclay's Reward's Card last night. I thought it would be a quick approval after receiving 5 of their Preselected apps in the last two months but... those apps didn't say Pre-Approved. My other Barclay's card received a $3k auto-CLI this week so that was another reason I thought it would be a quick approval. A computer decides if we get approved or not when we apply online. What happens after the 10 day message? Does an actual person review the app then make a decision?  I received a message this morning that said -

Thank you for recent Barclaycard Rewards MasterCard® application.

We are reviewing the information you provided. We will contact you within 10 days with an update on your application status. If we require additional information to complete the application process, we will reach out to you using the contact information you provided on the application.

Don't know if that's auto-generated or if it was sent after an actual person started the process.

Interesting note, the hard inquiry for this app showed up on my Credit Karma report this morning. A hard inquiry from Barclay's from May 2, 2012 just fell off. Coincidence!

Call recon dept. Just means computer couldn't instant approve you. But they can help.

I called after I received that message but the department was closed until Monday. Who knows, I might receive an answer before then.

If you already have a Barclaycard (looks like you do with the Apple card), the app will most likely be flagged for review. Just call on Monday and they should be able to take care of it!

I was wondering if it would be calling the regular line this weekend or waiting to call their credit analist on Monday. The analyst will probably be the better person to talk to.
