I was approved yesterday for the Mastercard Rewards card with a $5k limit.
After the initial "mission accomplished" felling, my thinking quickly turned to the fact that I will be watched very closely by their "Portfolio Credit Group" or whatever, for a period of 6 months (according to what I've read) thus beginning my "pledgeship." :-)
There is NO WAY I'm going to app ANYTHING during this time. I've read they shut down your account the minute you app for something else too soon???
I plan on using the card for gas, groceries and utility auto-pay as those earn 2x points. Additionally, I plan on using auto-pay so the card is PIF every month for the foreseeable future.
Are there any other "gotchas" to be aware of? Should I never have utilization over 10% or???
