Has anyone had luck back dating Barclays cards? I ask becuase I have two accounts with them, the older of which I just closed. I had them consolidate its credit limit onto the new card. I would like them to back date the account for credit reporting to the date the old account was opened. I closed the older one because it was a US Airways Platinum; the new one is a US Airways World Premier, which has slightly better benefits apparently.
Any advice on strategies here? Thanks as always.

You can certainly ask them ~ I've never heard of anyone doing this ( other than AMEX ).

AMEX is the only one I know of doing this too. I put my son on my AMEX so he will always have something to backdate too. He's 18 so hopefull that will help him later in life.
