When I apped for the Rewards card:
I was "pre-qualified" online, by the way.
Got approved for a second card about a month after, albeit with a slightly smaller limit. This was also a "pre-qualified" offer.

- TU 645
- 3 PR's, 2 paid, 1 unpaid
- 1 old charge off (approaching 6.5 years), 1 open collection from Midland
- Several new accounts between 2012 and 2013, AAoA is around 2 years, oldest accounts are student loans that I opened in college.
- 12 inquires over two years (I think about 6 of them are around a year old, maybe less)

12 inquiries on the TU? I would wait till some fell off and let your new account age for at least 9 months.
Because it's one of the best card to have. And i just got approval for the barclaycard arrival world mastercard on 4/1/2014 and they puul transunion wish my score was
724.
I got my Barclays rewards card for "Fair credit" with a credit score of 630 (MyFico EQ), an AAoA of < 2 years (at that time before an Amex MSD update), no inquiries on any of the reports and no lates or baddies - Barclays does pull TU. It was my first rewards card and there's a rewards boost also for 8x, 10x, etc. I am not sure when/why it pops up but I have it now all the time. You also get your free TU score from Barclays as well. I read a post somewhere on this forum that indicated that Barclays likes to see a a full year of on-time payments.
Mmm I'm waiting for next year to apply for some credit unions CC's, I'm taking my credit building real slow. This thread makes barclay seem like a easy get, might have to keep that in mind for later. Also TU is my lowest score at moment, not that any of them are great anyway.
So I just got the Choice Privileges Card after having run wild on an app spree getting maybe 10 cards... this is my first Barclays card. They gave me a whopping $250 limit!! This is the lowest limit I have ever had, even when my credit was terrible and I had a bad-credit cards. I guess I'm lucky to even get it after 12 inqs on my report and 10 new cards in the past 5-6 months.
What doesn't make any sense to me is the fact that I applied with Barclays early on in my app spree and they denied me (was probably for some other card of theirs) and at the end of my spree, after having so many hits to my credit, the approve me? Oh well, at least my foot is in the door with them!

that would do it. if you use them frequently they are good about CLI 5-6 months after use. i went from 500 to 2k in 5 months.
Barclays also is pretty good at adding bonus rewards every few months where you will gain double the points on certain purchases in addition to the bonus you already receive.
its my first rewards card since my bad credit problems many years ago.
I love getting points and cash back on my purchases.
I was approved with a 702 TU MyFico score. 1 paid tax lien (from 2007) and 9 paid judgments. (from 2007, 2008)
Hello corymcd88 - I was checking your post made in March about Barclay's... Wondering if you applied.. If so.. What was the outcome? Continue your Success in The World of Credit Cards!
