Barlcays Ring or PenFed Promise?

Any thoughts on compariing these two?

-edit- I have read post that both creditors will reduce APR's (but I wouldn't think so for the Ring)

I would go with the Ring, if only because it is an 8% V across-the-board APR, where with the PenFed, it looks like you might be running the risk of potentially being approved at one of the higher APR tiers, if your credit is not already exemplary?  I also personally have the Ring and FWIW, have been very pleased with it so far.

If it were up to me, I would go with PenFed - hands down.  If your profile is strong enough for either, chances are you'd still score on the low APR end for PenFed.  If you're on the fence or not sure, then Ring can make sense as well.

I liked both, so I got both. I was approved @ 9.99 on the Promise though. One plus for PenFed is the pretty much ongoing special 12 month BT for 4.9% instead of the standard purchase rate. Both cards allow cash advance @ purchase rates, but I elected to also get a PLOC from Penfed for quick cash duty.

The ring is on the my list card. If I go for the citi business aadvantage card later, then the aviator would be regaled to Ring.
