How do so many people get these cards not living in Oregon?
OCCU is an exception to the almost universal rule that you need to be a member of a credit union in order to qualify for its credit cards.
but if you do the only app thing it says you have to meet one of 5 conditions to join. Maybe i'm doing something wrong?
Random people can't join OCCU, but the CC appears to be treated differently.
There are some long threads here that describe the experience of many people in applying.
oh i get it and see now. Thanks for the clarification
@basballguy,
Please read the threads regarding the Duck card before applying so you don't waste an inquiry. I applied and was denied. It appears that the criteria (that I know of anyway) is that you can have no negatives within two years and must likely have a minimum of a 690 ish credit score. Also, if you have a thin file with multiple new accounts, they appear not to like that as well. I'm sure there are other criteria, but these were the ones that sunk my ship. They pulled Equifax for the vast majority of people. I have one baddie left on Equifax which will go past that 24 month period in November 2014. I hope to apply again then. Good luck to you.

I did read through a few of them and decided to not app. I've already done my "app spree" and I believe this card and others like barclays need to be on the front end of the spree and not the back. I think you're probably right though. I suspect if I apply I'll get a decline due to the inquries.
@basballguy,
There's a lot of discussion about Barclay's but I got approximately 10 cards (all within 6 months) after Barclay's and no adverse action from them at all. I occassionally will do a balance transfer with them so they make a little interest off of me and then PIF before the statement closes. This seems to have worked for me and them, as they have given me two CLI's. The Duck card seems to only care about inquiries if you have a thin file and/or baddies. There have been plenty of people with a lot of inquiries, but with thick files who were approved with 5 digit limits. I think my biggest surprise was Discover. Initial credit line of $6,500 and then raised to $10,000 after only 3 months. Now I'm waiting for my 6 month anniversary for Amex and will try 3x CLI in Blue Cash. They may balk with all the available ($52,400) credit I have with utilization usually between 2-5%.
@OP
+1 everybody..it seems like they're really trying to market their CC products hard & grow their base
@12njoy
How do you get the card images in your sig??
@burberryboy007,
Someone on one of these Boards posted the followig (it works. you will have to play with sizes if you have many cards)
1. create a new fold on your desktop(i named mine "cards"...lol)
2. google or bing the cards you are looking to add
3. right click the image and "save as".....save to the new folder you created
4. login to photobucket.com(you can sign in with facebook)
5. click the upload tab, up at the top of the page...choose desired file in the new folder you created
6. this will show you the pic you uploaded and a few html codes, at the bottom right of the page.
7. click the "direct" code...it will be copied automatically
8. log in to myfico.com.....go to "my profile"....then to "my settings"
*OK HERE IS WHERE IT CAN GET TRICKY*
9. copy this html code <img src="" height="50"> then paste into the signature box(my settings)
*you see those two quotation marks together*
10. post your "direct" html code from photobucket, in between the two quotation marks, from the above code(step 9)
11. click save at bottom of page
THAT'S IT!!! YOU DID IT!
