Becoming AU on newly issued Cap1 QS

My cousin has been approved for a credit card with Cap1 and i am thinking if it is worthwhile to put myself on as Authorized User (AU). The limit is $500 and all i have is one Secured Card and 1 medical collection.

Would adding as AU help?

yes most likely right now since you don't really have any credit.

thanx. CreditAddict.

To put it another way

since the credit limit is low and account opened just now,  would i be better if i found an AU who has an old old account (like from 8-10 years ago) with like 8k-+ limits?

Once you add a AU, just how long do I plan on keeping him as AU? (assuming that AU dont Default and keeps Card in Good Standing). There is always that risk in adding another AU.  whats considered new normal.
