Best Buy Cardit Cards Issue

I have both the Best Buy Rewardzone Mastercard and the Store Card.

Issue with Mastercard: CL is only 800 I would like a better limit but that tell me that CLI is not avalible on my account. Is there any way to get a higher limit on that card such as re-applying? (Note: It has annual fee which they waived for the past 2 years & I got like 300 back in bestbuy bucks too Smiley Happy )

Issue with Store Card: my credit limit is only 1150 and to make most purchase in that store for what I want/need would need a higher limit plus I would not charge something that would complely max out my card even if its 0% interest. I think I may be on Plan B. Would like to switch to Plan A Smiley Happy

The Above is my Revovling Lines...

These Just dropped quite a it due to recent lowered AAoA & Inq's

TU: 687 - 12 Inq's - FICO -  1 PD Collection in '05 agreed to PFD but only removed from EQ and now when I call they wont do anything about it

EQ: 677 - 30 - Inq's -  No Baddies/CO

Ex: 690 - 5 Inqs - Fako - 1 PD Collection in '05 agreed to PFD but only removed from EQ and now when I call they wont do anything about it

I would appreciate any advice on how to get a higher CL on the MasterCard & how to get on Plan A on the Store Card?

Thanks Much

Re: Best Buy Cardit Cards Issue

When I applied for the Mastercard they pulled EQ and I'm in New York, you said you have 30 Inq's.

Why not let the inq's fall off before applying.

BTW are you still getting approved for CC's with that many inq's?

And here I am worried about my 6 inq's =)

Re: Best Buy Cardit Cards Issue

I don't know why everyone seems to like Best Buy so much.  In my experience, for lots of things like TVs, their 0% offers are bogus.  They've already inflated the price hundreds of dollars over the competition so the financing is built right in.  If you then mess up and end up actually paying the interest on top of their inflated prices, you're really getting killed.  They do have decent deals on computers at times.  But I think you can get much better deals on electronics via on-line retailers.  Even Crutchfield, which isn't exactly cheap, usually does better than Best Buy.

In any event, if you're going to burn so many inquiries, you should be looking at cards with better signup bonuses.  The airline cards have been offering crazy deals.  If my scores were in the mid 700s and I wasn't looking to buy a house in the near future, I'd be trying to sign up for as many of the airline bonuses as possible.  Once your inquiries age off and your scores come back up, I'd look at offers like that.

Re: Best Buy Cardit Cards Issue

Dont waste your time with HSBC BestBuy cards. They are very stingy and does not grow with you. I have been trying to get cli for the last two years with no luck. I do buy lot of stuff at BestBuy and pay in full. They never gave me a CLI. Dont blame your self and your inq's for the way HSBC BestBuy Cards behave.

Not to take away from the reason of your post, but how did you get so many accounts?  Are any of them AU accounts?

LOL!!  Now I don't feel so bad....WOW!!  30 inquiries??  Smiley Surprised  But back to your original question... my guess is that your Best Buy account is a plan B account and that is why the limit isn't going up and never will.  I've read that others re-applied at the store and were approved for the plan A account which will give you increases and a better limit.  However, with all of those inquiries and new accounts that might be difficult.  But you can always give it a shot...heck...one more inquiry isn't gonna make that much of a difference at this point. Smiley Very Happy

Re: Best Buy Cardit Cards Issue

Check out this recent thread regarding the possibility of switching a plan B card to a plan A card (although according to this poster, it takes a 2 year review period).

Is that a lot of accounts or something? My wife has maybe half as many accounts as I do. but her scores are better because she didnt go on an app spree as I did. I am done apping usless I absolutely need to for something.  I wanted some prime cards with rewards such as AMEX, Discover and BofA, as I will be traveling for work more and more and need higher limit cards for work expenses untill I return from trips and such.

As for the Best Buy Cards would would prefer to have them rasied without closing and taking a AAoA and new Inq hits, so if I cant up the CL's, I will have to wait until my Inq's drop off, and maybe retry to up them.
