Best Buy= No luv

I use this card alot (Maybe that was my problem) and was denied a CLI. I have a new job I make more money I use the card and pay it in full and if i do use any kind of promotion i pay it off in a timely matter. I havent requested an increase in a year and a half. Im wondering what the letter will say or if there is anything I can do about it. I cant get any luv from any of my accounts (target, bofa, best buy) after having them for 2 years.

Re: Best Buy= No luv

I did not too long ago, from $900 to $1200. Started out at $500 some time ago. If you're currently carrying a large balance that might have done it. HSBC has been kind of tight with their accounts lately.

tempusfugit123, do you have the BB Rewards Zone MC (the bank card) or the BB store card (no Visa, MC, etc logo.)

I'm still eligible for CLI's every six months on the store card, but I suspect that they're a lot tighter with the bank card.

Re: Best Buy= No luv

tempusfugit123, find out what kind of account you have.  the reason why i said that is because my brother has a special type of best buy card for people with bad credit. his account had a 500 limit for a very long time.

As far as I know the Best Buy *store card* has 2 tiers.. A & B

The A-Tier maxes out at a 10k CL and is eligible for increases. The B-Tier has a slightly higher interest rate (both have terrible interest rates) but I had heard it wasn't eligible for increase-- or they may cap out at $800.

Re: Best Buy= No luv

My BB store card has a $10,100 limit.  I would ask for more just to see if it's available but I've only had this limit since Nov. 09.

It's probably the bank card, and it's probably because of systems preparations for the new credit card act going into place this spring. There are a couple of other threads out here that discuss it, one of which is at the link below.

I think my brother has the Tier-B account.

Re: Best Buy= No luv

Ive had the store card for two years now and only got an increase of $200. Yes I did carry large balances but I always paid in full. This time around I had to wait 15 days for a payment to go through. I have only requested an increase and that was a year ago. Ive never been late and I always pay way more than the minimum. I guess they are just being tight with their lending. I only wanted to finance a new television but cant. My current limit is 1.1K and just needed it at about 2K to finance this tv..
