Congrats. Probably $300 CL with $59 AF like most of us when we got this card.

Re: Best Buy Rewards Mastercard

Credit limit is $320 with $69 af. I think I will close the Credit One acct I just opened since that limit is only $250.

Unless Credit One has monthly fees (I can't keep track of them), you'll do better to keep it open until right before the annual fee kicks in. Once you're approved for a CC, it goes on your reports, whether you keep it or not. Might as well get some use out of it.

You should call HSBC and ask for customer retention specialist and tell him/her, you would like them to reduce AF and CLI. Some times they might consider it.

CreditOne card,  is not a bad card for credit building. Keep in mind, if you do a pay by phone they charge another $6 for it. You are better off keeping the card for a year or two and let it report. Setup billpay with your bank checking account and payit electronically, it will save you lot of grief. They will give you $100 CL every 6 months. I had this card in the early stages of my credit rebuilding. I kept it for about 2 1/2 years and then closed it as I got better cards.

Just call the BB/HSBC CSR and ask them you are not happy and want to talk to customer retention specialist. You can even wait till you get the card and then call them once you got the card in the had. It works most of the time. They dropped my AF to $29.00
