First off I love this forum.
Second, I already have Discover and Amex, and really would like to have a Visa/Mastercard too. Which would I be most suited for?
My experian is 768 via my discover card.
I also have Kohls, Carecredit, Hdepot and a military star.
my amex has a high balance because of a home emergency, which I think is the reason my score dropped from 792.
I have no baddies ever and oldest credit is 8 years.
oh and have a mortgage.
sorry, Im a newbie at forums. thanks for any suggestions.

Get your utilization below 9% and then start applying. As for which card you should get, it depends on what you are looking for. Low interest? Cash rewards? Travel points?
4k discover, 400 balance
5k Amex, 1800 balance
1500 Kohls, 0 balance
4500 hdepot, 0 balance
10k, starcard, 1500 balance on a no interest purchase have 13 more months to pif before an interest charge.
4250 carecredit, 0 balance saving for kids braces in future.
310k mortgage.
See, idk what Im looking for, this forum has shown me that Im using credit wrong. I was always taught credit was for emergencies only, so I just have them sitting around until that happens, which now I know I should have used them to pay bills and then pif right away. My kohls charge helped build my credit and I was able to buy my first house.
I really love my discover card though, and the rewards, so maybe Im a rewards type person.
Chase Freedom $0 AF good rewards.
or
Chase Saphire prefered AF $95 if you spend enough it will pay for it self...
+1 chase freedom

You could look at the BankAmeriCard Cash Rewards Card. https://www.bankofamerica.com/credit-cards/products/cash-back-credit-card.go?cid=2083809&po=B9
Noticed the Military Star. Are you still in service or retired (as opposed to veteran)?
