I don't think you need to worry about any AA if they do a manual review. Worst case scenario they will deny you for any CLI. You will also most likely be asked to explain that collections during your call to recon.

You can also transfer CLs from your southwest card

That's something I've considered as a last resort.  The SW card is our primary card though because that's our airline of choice and we're not committed enough to the credit card game to pay attention to rotating catergories and work out savings based on different cash back percentages lol.  I'd hate to move part of the line and then have to wait 13 months to move it back - but I might if I can't work out a better solution Smiley Happy

Re: Best bet: Chase Slate or something else? (App Updates)

Called Chase about the Slate limit, the number I used from the backdoor thread doesn't seem all that special though lol

I used the Chase: 888-245-0625 (Credit Analyst - Recons) and explained to the person that answered that I'd like to see about a CLI on the card I was approved for last night.  They rep asked how much I was looking to transfer, I said slightly under $4000.  They then connected me to an agent with a strong accent who was introduced as a "credit specialist representative" and the two of them chatted a bit about what we had already discussed and they decided that I should try for $5000 since that would give me some wiggle room for new purchases.

I was told that they could not use the report pulled during my initial app less than 24 hours earlier, and that they could not use the same pull to address CLIs on both the new Slate and old SW card.  I sighed a little, but said sure, I'll accept the hard pull for the Slate to see if we can bump it up to $5000.  I expected a no, or at the very best a nominal increase.  I also expected to have to explain my old unpaid collection, but all I was asked was social, address and income and in less than a minute she approved me for the full $5000 CL!  It was well worth the extra HP for me personally Smiley Happy

The whole call took less than 5 minutes and it was great that I didn't have to explain myself to both reps lol

I'm pretty excited!  A new highest CL (even if it is on a no frills card) and since it's with Chase I can (hopefully) transfer most of that limit to my SW card in 13 months!

I think I'll touch base with Citi and see if they can do anything for me now! Smiley Wink

Re: Best bet: Chase Slate or something else?

Woohoo, checked my FNBO application and was approved for $1000.  I'm excited for the soft pull CLIs everyone talks about Smiley Happy

Also took a hit (not sure where yet) and got my icky BofA card upped from $800 to $2400.  I guess I should have asked for more, but I figured 3x was pushing it considering the fact that they've always declined my requests before.

Called Citi and am waiting to hear back about a recon on the CL.  Thank you again for that info Enharu!

Now I'm all done for an indefinite period.  Their are a few store cards I could consider (Lowes, Peebles and Kohls) but I think I'll refrain for the time being lol.  I don't want to make the same mistake I did last spring and overdo it.  I still regret the Cap1 and Zync cards I got last year - but the approvals were just so darn exciting!
