Re: Best card for Thin file?

im always shocked that we contstantly have debate after debate of where and weather to apply for some place that offers pre-qualified offers right of the website.

check capitalone.com - DO NOT apply without an offer

Check citicards.com - DO NOT APPLY iwthout an offer

Chase.com - APPLY 100% with an offer and apply maybe 75% with no offer considering she banks there

american express - apply 100% with pre-qualified and apply 75% for an everyday card, costco, or charge card with no offer

discovercard - don't bother with pre approval and just apply.

I apped for Cap One without offers (years ago) and always got approved. Just the triple pull.

Re: Best card for Thin file?

Get her some type of rewards card, if she's with Chase the freedom is not a bad place to start. Does she like Amazon? Their Amazon CC is great as well and is offered by Chase. Don't just get her a vanilla card, it's really a waste and probably will become a sock drawer card, you don't want to extend your portfolio with something useless. Instead opt for a card that will actually be useful for her while improving her credit profile.

Re: Best card for Thin file?

Appreciate the help everyone - I'll have her start with Chase.  Hopefully we can get her a freedom and double down on the bonuses
