What's the best card to use to get the rental car insurance - is it Visa Sig or Amex? The way I understand it, I would buy the liability and deny the collision. I know my BCE has it but wondered if one card is better than another to use for this.

On most visa sigs the collision is secondary. So it goes through YOUR insurance first. I would check and see if your current insurance will cover you in mexico.
You can BUY primary insurance through amex for something like $24.95 I believe ( dont know if this will work in mexico though, you'd have to ask) , and there is PRIMARY insurance on the CSP, Ritz, and palladium cards if you have any of those.

+1 to that. You can get all kinds of amateur hour comments here, but if something happens while you are in Mexico, you aren't going to be calling anyone on MyFICO, you need to know who you are actually going to call to get real help.
Sallie Mae card has is also and it says it becomes primary:
Outside your country of residence or if you do not have automobile insurance, this
benefit is primary in those countries where it is available, and in that case,
you do not have to claim payment from any other source of insurance before
receiving the benefits.

Wonderful!
Am I to assume the Arrival+ has this as well?
