Based on doctorofcredit's post, I think the options in my case would be amex, chase, cap1 and citi.
My wife will be eligible to get an ITIN next time I file for taxes early next year and I would like to start a credit history for her with a non-secured card. Given that she will have a very fresh file, what would be the best credit card issuer with a 150-200k family income.
Ther other question is if we are going to get a mortgage a few month after that, is it even wise to get a credit card for her?

I would add her to one of yours as an AU using her information, I did this to my mom with her ITIN and after three months she was approved for Amex charger and Blue cash, Capital One and Chase Freedom.

There are some lenders that will let you add an AU without giving the SSN or ITIN (Chase, Barclay), so you can add your wife today to some of your cards. Then when she gets the ITIN, you can add her to other cards.
About the mortgage, if you wait without adding her as AU, then when she gets her first card she needs to wait 6 months until a FICO score could be generated. I don't know if for a mortgage someone with ITIN can apply, I was not able to get an auto loan with ITIN.
My recomendation is only add her as AU for now, wait for mortgage to finish, then get her some cards. Good luck.

With ITIN you can't get your credit reports online, or use some free credit services like CreditKarma.
I was able to get all my cards with ITIN. Discover no longer take ITIN, not even to add an AU, only SSN.
