I've seen that offer floating around too. You can use the 50,000 MR points to pay the annual fee when it's due or get cash back, however the redeeming value isn't 1:1

Well I was just going to cancel the card after the first year free (or PC it), but how much woud that 50,000 MR points be worth in cash back/statement credit?
For cash back, it might be worth 2 points = $0.01 so 50,000 points = roughly $250.
i heard that the redeeming value for gift cards is usually 1:1 so $500 in gift cards.
Currently, in my view:
- Chase CSP - 40K (redeemable for cash)
- Chase Priority Club - 80K
- Chase Southwest - 50K (redeemable for amazon GC)
- Barc NFL - 40K (statement credit) + 20K (if you sock drawer the card for 2 months, will receive an enticement to spend $500 for the next 3 months for an additional 20K)
- Chase Ink Bold & Classic - 50K (5X at Office stores)
- Amex PRG - 50K (may no longer be available)
- Amex Mercedes Plat - 50K ($475 fee, but can be tempered by $400 in airline GCs)
- Citi AA - 50K (never thought it was great, but has become more compelling with the lesser sign up bonsuses we're seeing now)
Off the top of my head, but the "great" sign up bonsues do appear to be receeding.
