Well, I just received my new "debit" card in the mail from US Bank today and I almost cut up the wrong card. My old card is green, but the new card is blue and almost identical to my "FlexPerks" credit card. My new card says "debit" in the lower right hand side and in the upper left it says "check card". The new debit card says the word "FLexPerks" on it too, just like my cc does. That is why I almost cut up the wrong card. They also eliminated the "Visa paywave" on the new card. Personally, I wish they would have kept the old green card as it was easy to distinguish between the two, ( this old man needs things simple in life ). Anyhow, I just wanted to give those of you who deal with US Bank a heads up when your renewal card comes.

Is there any special requirements to get in with US bank? I'm not familiar with them.

They are a very conservative bank. They like a low DTI and clean CR. I live in SoCal and they always pull EX for me. They are my main go-to bank. About 90% of what I do on a monthly basis goes through them. I have been with them for many years and they have treated me well.

Yes they are a prime lender.
I am not sure if they HP for a bank acct. It has been to long ago for me to remember. For me, I think they are far better than WF, BofA, Chase etc.

I'm considering them for late next year for a CC but don't want to take a HP to get a bank account with them. Maybe i'll keep my files frozen and try for it.

US bank did the same thing to me a while ago. My credit and debit card looked almost exactly the same.
One day I swiped my credit card at an ATM on accident, and got hit with a 40.00 cash advance fee. Luckily US bank has pretty good customer service, so I got it reversed in one phone call, then I got an American flag design on my debit card so they no longer look alike.

USBank does not Pull HP to open Checking/Savings
and Debit Card color, Weird thing is I overdrafted the checking (Unemployment Error) Well it went 8 days so they closed my debit card.... Went into bank (Phone use to rank #2 or #3 best CS, now they are Sub Prime Cap1) any in bank he was back to #2! ordered new Debit card and says you have options for cards (I was like hmmm in my head, never heard or seen that) I got it Sat. and it's "Golf" I like it, can't mess that one up pulling wrong card!
I think this conservative statement has gone a little over board. They are but yet are not if you have the credit and then later longer history with them... I can tell you they do not care about Util. on their cards it doesn't seem over the years. Started with $15k in 2005... over the years increased $1500-$2500 each time, most of the time getting declined over phone and then statement shows up and CLI is there... but that was also back when they didn't do HP for all CLI requests... My account is closed and in payment program right now but $22,500 CL at close of account last year.

Travis,
Thanks for the tip. I had no idea that they had designer cards. So, last night I went on line and found what they had to offer. I called and the nice lady said they would be happy to change my card and that it would be out within 3 days. I also went with the American Flag design on my debit card. Thanks again, I am glad you chimed in with your experience. As always, US Bank has come thru for me.
