If you receive offers in the mail from AmEx, I'm honestly a little surprised they haven't bombarded those looking for the 100k offer with flyers for the 100k offer. I don't have an AmEx and have never had an AmEx and yet the 100k flyer shows up every month or so, including again earlier this week. On a whim, I just now checked my offers online and got 60k points, so the online offers do not line up with what they will offer you through the mail.
If you want the 100k points, I would recommend you just allow AmEx to send you mailer offers.
