Re: Big Changes (bad) Coming to US Bank Cash+?

I'd take pride in having a high net worth.  Having high credit limits just means an issuer sees you as a good customer and/or a customer they can make money off of.  Not too much pride to be taken in that.

This is different than taking a pride in fixing one's credit history.  That I can understand.  But at the same time, one shouldn't confuse a creditor offering credit to you as the creditor being "loyal" or "there for" you.  It's all a busimess, after all.

EDIT: And yes it's stilly to complain about this.  Clearly, U.S. Bank was losing money off its existing rewards scheme.  You can't expect them to keep doing that just because you like the card so much.  The new version of the card still looks superior to the other rotating cards anyway.

Folks that signed up for this card becasue it had the best bill pay category aren't silly for complaining about this change.  US Bank could have kept it and put a cap on there.  As a consumer, I signed up for a product that changed rather quickly and drastically.  I'm well within reason to state my displeasure.

OK Everybody, USB replied to my FB inquiry about the (rumored) forthcoming changes.  Here's their response:

When I called, I was advised that there was a 2k cap on the 5%.  I'm not sure why they aren't confirming that now.

I think she took the vague route to encourage my application.

Re: Big Changes (bad) Coming to US Bank Cash+?

I wonder how Cell Phone is going to work.   Currently I have One Bill with Verizon, wireless and wireline charges come on, wait for it, one bill.  And I think it goes to Verizon Communications, which won't have a cell phone MCC.   So might have to change the billing to get the benefit...

The bright side of this is that the Cash+ is getting 5% back on bookstores in April, which counters the Citi Forward (?) losing that. Can anyone confirm that Amazon.com bills as a bookstore with the Cash+?

I don't think the Forward is losing 5x on books.  Looks like another of the rumors that circulate.

I thought the Forward was being discontinued altogether.

I think the forward is being repackaged as a visa signature.  I don't think it's going away.  Bookstores still get the 5x points.

[ Edited ]

i have corrected my reply. it must have been late and i think i must have been sleepy.

take value in high credit worth to compensate for the fact i have LOW net worth. i would gladly trade in high credit worth for high net worth with LOW credit worth in an instant.
