Bill Me Later question

I have had BML for around 6 years now but never seem to get beyond $500. Anyway, I always get declined a  CLI due to too many inquires. However, the letter is based on a credit pull from over 6 months ago. So its very out of date.  Is this the norm for BML to use out of date pulls to make present credit decisions? I read on their site they supposed to pull every quarter but that has never happened in my case.

Re: Bill Me Later question

Have you called in and spoke to a credit analyst about it?

I emailed them and I await a response. I'm guessing I will just get sent a standard email response though.  I tried calling a year ago about getting an CLI and to speak to an analyst but they wouldn't put me through to one, saying their system reviews CR each quarter blah blah blah and there is nothing that can be done.  Im hoping they just update my profile since I have been gardening the last few months.

I'm not sure this is accurate. Several BML reps told me that they do a HP when you first apply. Then if at any point you want to go over the CL, they'll do a SP as you're making your purchase, and then you're either approved or not. No one ever mentioned quarterly SPs. I've only had them since January; however, I have not seen any SPs from them (have only made one purchase w/them).

You haven't talked to them in a year, so maybe they've changed their policies. Have you tried to make a purchase and been denied? They don't just increase your CL. You need to make a purchase beyond your current avail CL. THEN they'll SP and either approve the purchase or not.

Re: Bill Me Later question

I'm pretty sure they just soft pull.. We've had a bill me later account for a couple years now and have never seen them pull our credit other than the first time we applied.

Our limit on that has fluctuated a bit, but I'm not sure when they update. I wish they ever reported to the CRA's. Bill Me Later is my husbands highest limit at $7500, but it's nowhere on credit reports.
