Blank checks from WaMu

I have a Cabela's WaMu Visa and today they just sent me blank checks again to use for anything I want. The rate is 1.9% on anything till May 2009 with a 3% CA fee. After the intro period the APR changes to 14.99% + Prime.

In the past I have just shredded these up and never thought twice about using them. Anyone here find this to be a benefit in any way?  Or should I do as usual and feed them to my shredder?

Re: Blank checks from WaMu

It sounds tempting but I always shred them. If you use them, then make sure you do not have a prior balance that you wanted to carry over. Once you make a payment, they allocate your payment towards the portion of the balance with lower APR.

Re: Blank checks from WaMu

I just used one with .99% interest.  I've used them in the past and pay off right away.  It's still better than using my savings.  I might stretch this one out awhile since it's so low.

I received mine today too. Mine are  1.99% on anything till August 2009 with a 5% bT  fee up to $150. These are awsome checks to use. I use them for my auto loan. Next week I will move $3000 from my auto loan to my Wamu card for the lower interest rate. How can yoo go wrong on that. the key is to make sure your Wamu card has a zero balance b4 you use those checks & make sure you are able to pay off the balance in the alloted time. Since I received my wamu card I have on ly used it for BT's I have never purchased anything with it.
