@Anonymous wrote:Those that are hoping that their Blispay account remains a "hidden trade line" what are the benefits of this? I suppose it would prevent a reduction of AAoA but what are the other reasons?
Doesnt effect AAoA and you dont need to worry about utilization while carrying some 0% debt. I used my paypal credit acount for this reason many times. But this is better becaseu it gives 2% cash back as well as the other benifits.
Hey all, does anyone have any opinions on the Blispay card vs the Citi DC card for every day 2% purchases? Sort of a daily driver card to use outside of rewards categories? I was going to start a Blispay 2% vs Citi DC 2% thread but wanted to ask here first.
What are the benefits and drawbacks of each compared to the other? Shooting from the hip, with my limited knowledge I perceive the following:
The Citi DC card has been around longer and Blispay obviously not very long and the future of Blispay isn't very clear at this time. While SL's may be comparable on both cards, the DC has the potential for a higher CL over time as you can receive CLI's where Blispay stays at its SL forever as far as I know. The big advantage to Blispay I suppose would be the interest free financing on purchases over $199 which to me is an attractive feature over the DC. Another Blispay "advantage" would be that it doesn't report so far from what some have said on here, if you personally consider that an advantage over DC. As far as the fine print goes, I don't know much about the additional benefits of either card. Some have said that getting the 2% CB rewards with DC takes a while since it's 1% + 1% and you have to pay it off to get half of it... but I PIF so I don't think that would really matter to me. I know the Blispay 2% back comes in the form of statement credit, not sure if that matters vs DC.
Does anyone have any opinions on these cards compared to one another?
Chances I would use one for around $1k in purchases per month for things like recurring bills and daily spends that don't fall into any sort of rewards category. Thanks for the insight, everyone.
Blispay is an instant cash back on your account when you are billed. I like that a lot. I have both a DC and Blispay.
While SL's with the DC card may be smaller, I do like knowing that they can increase. With Blispay from what I understand what you get is what you're stuck with. I would hate to get a SL of $2-3k or something as it wouldn't suit my needs in the long run. I do like the automatic cash back into the statement with Blispay.
For the person that posted above with both the Blispay and DC card, which do you find yourself going to the most and why?
Someone in another thread posted about DC having a nice extended warranty feature as well as a price rewind feature. Not sure about the specifics on either of these or if Blispay offers any other subtle perks that come with their card... ?
Some approval data for those that are interested. In reading through this thread and looking at the credit pulls database, there have been ZERO reports of anyone being pulled anything other than Experian when applying for Blispay. No other single bureau, no second bureau in addition to Experian; simply a straight up EX pull in around 25 reported applications.
SL's have ranged from $3000 to $12000. In the credit pulls database the highest reported SL was $10000 for someone with a score of 830, but someone in this thread maybe 4-5 pages back posted that they had a $12000 SL. I'm unsure of what their EX score was.
Very few people reported application denials; only 3 of 20 from the database and those 3 scores were 673, 688 and 703 with the 703 person citing lots of new accounts. All EX scores, of course. However, there WERE 3 approvals with scores within this range of 682, 688, 697 all with $3k-$5k credit lines.
Everyone with EX scores 730+ received a SL of $7500 or in a couple of cases, slightly better with higher scores.
I applied for Blispay today and received a "call within 5 days" message. For those that have received this, what should I expect? What questions are asked when called? I tried calling tonight, but it was past their business hours so I'll try back first thing in the morning. Just trying to prepare myself for this call... I applied for 3 other cards today and was 3 for 3 on approvals with nice limits, so I'd like to think I'm in a good position for the Blispay card.

I suspect you'll be asked to verify your home address and two accounts from your credit reports, then approved.
I app'ed and got approval for $7.5k. And all of the benefits. I think the promo is a good deal! Will use for more home improvements. Call as soon as you can. I've heard a lot of "calls" are approved. Fingers crossed.
So after I called today and verified the information that they asked for I was told they'd have an update for me in 2-3 business days. I suppose that update would be my approval or denial. Has anyone else had to go through this waiting process? In reading through this thread I don't recall anyone mentioning this. I'm not really sure what to expect at this point... if I should just sit back and wait, call again tomorrow to follow up and ask if there's anything else I can do on my end?
I honestly can't think of any reason I'd get denied for this... but in the event that I do get denied, is there a recon number I can call or is it the same number I already called today that was given to me with the 5 day message? Thanks for your continued feedback and support on this one, fellas.
