Bloomingdale's Visa

I've had my Bloomingdale's account for a while now and was recently even upgraded to their Ultimate Premier card that is for their best customers (meaning I spend too much money there). I called to see if the account could be switched over to the Visa product as it would be one less card to carry with me and you get rewards points for using the Visa half outside of the store. They said it would take a few days to process with the credit department but I should hear back from them this week. I got a letter yesterday in the mail stating that I wasn't approved due to info. on my EQ CR, but no reasons. I've checked my CR's and they never ran in inquiry on EQ, also if they did and it was a soft, EQ is my best report by far (almost 700 club). There is a number on the letter. I'm just wondering if I should call and try to recon. My account with Bloomie's is in excellent standing and without having run the report I'm confused as to why I would be turned down.

Current:
TU (5/14/14): 796 (Inquiries; 8/23/13)
EQ (3/23/14): 791 (Inquiries: 8/23/13)
EX (9/24/13): 780 (Inquiries: 7/2/12; 11/20/12; 7/30/13; 8/23/13)

Goals: No new inquiries for 2014, 800 for all CRs by 12/31/14

isn't boomies gemb, if so there's your reason. gemb is the stingiest, most unwilling to grow tl i ever had. certainly try a recon, but if it is gemb don't count on it.

Probably can't hurt to recon it.  I would.

Re: Bloomingdale's Visa

I think I'm going to. I show them lots of love every month. With the Bloomingdale's card, they have actually been pretty generous with the credit and aside from this weird letter, their customer service is great.

Current:
TU (5/14/14): 796 (Inquiries; 8/23/13)
EQ (3/23/14): 791 (Inquiries: 8/23/13)
EX (9/24/13): 780 (Inquiries: 7/2/12; 11/20/12; 7/30/13; 8/23/13)

Goals: No new inquiries for 2014, 800 for all CRs by 12/31/14

You're correct that Citi handles Macy's accounts, but they also do Bloomingdale's.  You can find it here on the Citi website--
