BoA CLI can you do it via Soft pull?

I have read so much conflicting info on the forums, there are ways to do it with a soft pull and there aren't. Anyone know if there is a specific route with Bank of America to get a soft pull CLI?

Re: BoA CLI can you do it via Soft pull?

I did that a few weeks ago and it was a hard pull :smileymad: If you call the credit card services of BofA and talk to a credit specialist and ask not to do a hard pull you may have a chance

Wallet: AMEX Blue Cash Preferred 5k; BofA Visa CashRewards 5k; BofA 1-2-3 MasterCard 4.4k; Citi TY Premier 2.5k; AMEX HHonors 3.5k, Chase Marriott 5k, Barclays US Airways 2.5k, Kohl's 300

As with any request for a CLI, I would assume the worst.  It may not be an issue based on which CRA they pull from based on what else is going on on your CR, INQ wise.

IMHO they would pull from the CRA they use for a new account.

BOFA - hard pull all the time for customer-initiated CLI's from all anecdotal evidence on this forum.

The thread you're referring to was debunked: the poster did get a hard pull.

Starting Score: EQ 561, TU 567, EX 599* (12/30/11, EX lender pull 12/29/11)
Current Score: EQ 648, Wally TU 673, EX 687 (06/15/13)
Goal Score: 680 in all three (01/01/14)

I did a CLI in January from 1k to 5k, and there was no hard pull. I called them and talk with a nice lady for about 15min. But a few days ago I requested CLI on my other card which approved instantly without calling, and it was a hard pull from TU.

So the CLI is not always a hard pull.
