BoA's 99/500 card?

I read somewhere that BoA's 99/500 card is no longer in existence. But when I searched for it on MyFico it appears like a poster was offered it as recently as September 2011. Does anyone know if this card is still offered? I tried calling BoA but forgot that they are closed for Veteran's Day.

Re: BoA's 99/500 card?

I think the reason why its not avaialble is because it's their 'internal' counter offer not your regular secure card.

So if you apply for their card and get denied, they can counter with this card depending on the phase of the moon I guess.

Re: BoA's 99/500 card?

When I spoke to BoA CSR in September - it was only available if it is offered.  Either you get an invite or it is offered when you apply for something else and are denied.

Re: BoA's 99/500 card?

Hmmm, interesting. I would app in a second if I knew they'd offer it for me. But I don't want another hard inq if they only offer me the fully secured.

Andrew.......I just applied for a BoA AmericaCard, and they counter-offered the 99/500, so yes it still exists. You have way better scores than me, so you should have a good shot at it. How about baddies on your report? I hope everything goes well for you man!

Re: BoA's 99/500 card?

Andrew, you could try for their basic visa wth no reward first? It might be easier to PC later since I assume their basic card does not have high requirements compared to their rewards ones.

Re: BoA's 99/500 card?

I wonder if people with BKs on their record (NO BOA listed of any sort) can get the 99/500 card..anyone have any input?

Current scores (EQ, EX, TU): 787, 788, 796

Re: BoA's 99/500 card?

I applied for the basic BankAmericard and was denied FICO EQ 634 FICO TU 623 FAKO EX 650 No history BK No lates in a year one old collection 4 years ago no other baddies and they didn't offer me one.  On attempted recon asked about it and was told it is not an option unless it is offered.  To apply for secured would have been another hard inquiry and did not want a full year of my money tied to a secured card that was fully secured.  I walked away.

YMMV.

Re: BoA's 99/500 card?

My reports have two baddies, both from 2005 (although one reports as a 2010 because it's a newer CA). One's an HSBC CO and the other is a utility collection. I believe my true FICO's are in the 680 range. Would love to app but I currently have inq's on TU, 3 on EX, and 3 on EQ. Wonder what BoA pulls in Illinois? If it's EX or EQ, I'd definitely go for it. But if it's TU, I'd take a pass. But the 99/500 card would be perfect for me. It reports as an unsecured card, right?

Re: BoA's 99/500 card?

I originally app'd for the bofa americard and was countered with the 99/500 option.  Sure wish I would of app'd for the rewards card as I have read on these forums they counter with a secured version of the rewards card.  Called afterward to see if they'd do a pc but they said its not possible.

Also from what I recall I had to wait until my BK fell off my CR (they pulled EX WA state).

and no, this card reports as secured
