My DH received a special offer in the mail from BofA the other day. DH has a 1-2-3 Cash Rewards Visa Signature card and the offer is for a $15 gift card from Target, Best Buy or Starbucks if he uses his credit card to pay a monthly utility bill. The requirement is just for one bill payment to post to his credit card account by June 30, 2013. BofA will then mail out the $15 gift card that he chooses within 4-6 weeks. Pretty cool! Anyone else getting this offer? My DH just got this credit card in January.
I got one last December for $15 to Best Buy, Starbucks, or Target. I chose the Target gift card and set it up to pay my cable bill. I believe the offer said expect the gift card in 6-8 weeks after your first bill pay goes through. I waited the 8 weeks and my card still hadn't shown up. The day before I was going to call them about it I got home from work and it had finally arrived. So it took about 9 weeks to get my gift card. I have seen other stories where people reported it never showed up. I am just happy it eventually came. It doesn't hurt to try the offer and cross your fingers it gets to you in a timely manner.
That's a nice offer. I just received an offer from BoA for 3% at home improvement stores -- I forgot the timeframe and other specifics -- but Discover is offering 5%. I'd rather have the $15 gift card for paying a utility bill.
The last I got was 2500 extra miles on spending $500 on home improvement on my BofA Virgin Atlantic Amex. 3000 miles including 500 for purchase is pretty good. Way better than $25 cash back I would have gotten from discover.
