If you ask for a large amount, will they counter offer or just outright deny?  It is hitting the 7th statement and I have run through on average 2x's the current cl.  It is currently only 1k and I am looking for 5K.

If you leave the amount requested blank, you will automatically get a 20% increase, if you are approved.

I say go for it.  I went from 5k to 10k after 3 months and I was only running like 400-500 through the card per month

I would call and talk to a CSR.  Explain that you are putting so much through on your card that you are having to pay a few times a month and it's a bit of a hassle... would be much easier if you had a $5K limit!    Good luck!

If you need big CLI call to CSR and ask to talk to Credit Analyst or whatever they called it in BOA.

I actually hit the "love" button on the BOA website. I requested a CLI to 10,000 and was instantly granted the increase last week.

Trilly, How long have you had the card?  What are your fico scores?  What were you at before the CLI?

I received the card in January 2008. My initial credit limit was 7400 and my scores were around 680ish in January 2008.  My scores are between 705-718 now.

I hit the "luv" button this morning and went from $4k cl to $7k instantly.  Gotta love BOA!!
