Nothing of the sort. I not only pay on time, I usually pay way before the due date. BT has always been 9.99%.

What do you mean by "losing the whole account?" I haven't given them any reason at all to mess with me in any way.

This a bank who gave the ultimate CLD to its President today (albeit with a nice $53 million severance package).  As per other posters, I'd stay under the radar for a while.

Re: BofA Luv Button Disappeared

Uncle_Money,

Are you carrying a high balance in relation to your credit limit? Or, have you recently paid off a balance transfer, or a balance that you've carried for a while? Are you carrying balances on other cards? BoA softs me monthly, so they'd definitely know if I had some appreciable debt. You may have reached their comfort level with your debt-to-credit ratio, hence the removal of the LUV button.

The other thing that made me think that that BoA might think that they're smelling blood is that they're offering you a balance transfer at 9.99%. That makes me think that THEY think that there's a good possibility to make some money off of you.

Probably yes! BofA is just looking for excuses to cut CL exposure these days. Personal interaction with a credit analyst is fraught with peril. Best to mind your derog's before initiating a conversation.

Re: BofA Luv Button Disappeared

UPDATE: I spoke with a CSR and she informed me that the credit limit increase button has been removed due to system maintenance. She assured me I didn't initiate it any way and the button will be back.

Thoughts?

Re: BofA Luv Button Disappeared

Another Update: I spoke to a CSR via phone and she says they stopped doing automatic increases.

Does this make sense?

No, that answer doesn't address your question. The LUV button is a means of the customer initiating a request for a CLI. An automatic increase wouldn't be customer initiated.

But, honestly, I'd stop poking them. The LUV button will return when you're again in their good graces enough (whatever defines that state of being). Wait until it returns before you attempt to get an increase. Otherwise, you may be setting yourself up for a CLD. Smiley Sad
