nothing can happen for 13months part of the credit card law... spoke to a few reps for diffrent cards and they all told me the same thing no upgrades no nothing except CLI are allowed untill month 13 because of the law

I didn't look at the law that closely, but I don't think that applies for a secured -> unsecured decision.  Nothing else is happening outside of a refund of the deposit securing the card in this case, there's no actual change to the APR, limits, or anything else with regards to the account in question.

 

Christa: I didn't have CO with BOA, but I did something silly with my finances back in 2010, had a 30/60 day late, PIF'd, and they closed the account (after it had unsecured, 36 years to finally grow up apparently...).  It was no trouble to get another secured card with them.

Damn this new credit law! Haha. A few extra months should only help scores and AAoA, so it'll be ok.
