BofA gets desperate

I often wondered what I would do if this day ever came by but yesterday, I received a pre-approval offer from BofA.  LOL it hasn't been even a month since my last derog, a 120 day late from them, fell off my report.  The offer even praised my credit profile and how I was a member of an elite group who would get the offer.  Get real.

I am ashamed to admit that part of me wondered if they would approve me but there is no chance I would ever allow them to cost me a single FICO point or make a single cent on me or from a CC transaction, I just defaced it with extreme prejudice and threw it out.

The only final thing they could do to me would be to close the account and possibly even delete the TL (over 16 years old) that caused all the trouble all those years ago.  It seems they forgot to do that when I entered the DMP program and haven't reported on it for over 4 years.

BofA, take your best shot.

The irony of the situation was that the problem occured when I was trying to get out of CC debt and in a DMP program.  I never had any issues or lates with them prior to that.  I would recommend a nice CU card if you qualify for a local CU.  Mine gives me 1% cashback on everything.

Re: BofA gets desperate

That is a good idea and I have been considering doing just that. I been trying to gather statistics on CL from CU's BC I really need a high limit card and I've heard CU are good with that. If u don't mind, could I ask what kind if CL your CU gave you and what your score was?

Yeah, well for anyone in the subprime bracket, outside of NFCU, they're probably the best lender on the planet now in terms of rewards and future use.... and generally speaking, any issue I have had with BOFA (exception: checking account recatigorization and associated fees, those are crap!) has been my own fault.

Don't know the details of other people's horror stories, but if you have to enter a DMP or similar, why expect lenders to be happy about it when they're unlikely to get the full debt repaid at the terms which you agreed to?  We all get angry or at least fustruated in our personal relationships when someone neglects to do something they promised, why should lenders be different?
