I did the same thing a while back, tried PC from Cash Rewards to the Privileges card, got the same response, that one had to apply for it. The CSR also told me they had more stringent rules for it, and that one had to have a banking relationship with BofA. I don't now, but formerly had a mortgage with them. I asked if that counted, they said "no". There was no mention of just paying the AF with an approval on an app/HP.

pulling for you to get it!

i hope it works it out for you. I haven't heard of anyone without the big deposits being able to get the card though recently. I'm not sure why they put the app on the main website if it's only open to people that are part of the privileges program(you need the 50k deposit balance to get in that). I thought that was the point of the annual fee-why have the fee there if the qualification to get the card in the first place is the same qualification needed to get the annual fee waived?
I have a feeling theyre gonna review your app t and say you can't have the card because you aren't part of the priveleges program or whatever. Hope i'm wrong though.
