CAPITAL ONE COLLECTION

[ Edited ]
I have a capital one collection account from 2004. If I pay that balance will they reinstate my card?
Thanks

Re: CAPITAL ONE COLLECTION

Probably not. If they're like most such creditors, they would rather be able to leave a black mark up against your name that haunts you for seven years than to work with you to find a solution that benefits you and them.

But you could ask. I might be wrong.

Re: CAPITAL ONE COLLECTION

Thanks for your message. I will try PFD first. If it does not work then I will pay the balance and try GW.

Re: CAPITAL ONE COLLECTION

Cap1 seems to be one of the more forgiving CCCs out there, but I've never heard of an account reinstatement... Definitely reapply when you've settled up with them though... A lot of posters have had successes with them the secondtime around.

Re: CAPITAL ONE COLLECTION

I'll fess up to my Cap1 misadventure. This is not advice, just the truth.

In 2000 I had a Cap1 CC account that went derog. It was charged-off.

In 2005(?) Cap1 offered me ANOTHER CC, $500 CL, I think.

In 2007 the old Cap1 CO dropped of my CR .

My current Cap1 CL is $2k.

So, I had a Cap1 CO AND a Cap1 CC at the same time.

Re: CAPITAL ONE COLLECTION

I don't know. I had hit a very low point in life and basically given up, it seemed all had conspired against me. I got an Orchard CC, was very responsible with it & Cap1 offered me a 2nd chance. Cap1 often is given a bad rap but i say THANK YOU Cap1.

In answer to your original question, in my experience I think they would work with you.

Good luck!
