Wow! Sounds like you've done quite a bit of cleanup Congratulations - you should update your signature to reflect your hard work!
My Cap1 will hit it's 5th statement later this month so I'll get my paltry $250 CLI...I'm still excited for it though :-P
@charyot: That gives me a glimmer of hope for my future with Cap1 since I also plan to keep mine open because of the no FTF. Did you use the card a lot?
yeah i was expecting 200 and was going to be happy with it lol.
the first month i used it a couple times. stoped using it for 2 months then just used it once or twice a month after that.

No, not really. I think the max I charged (when it reached $750) was plane tickets for about $500 but I paid it off the next month. I used it sparingly.
The increase came at just around Christmas time last year but I was able to avoid the temptation of going wild with the card.
Maybe CapOne gives increases if they dont think you need it.
I put around $400-$500 on mine each month but make payments 1-2x a week so my credit line never dips below having $250 available. Reporting balance I keep between 2 and 7%.

I never asked for a CLI because I've heard that asking is a waste of time, but I can verfiy that they give decent increases.
I've recently been approved for better cards, but I'll keep the platinum open because Capital One doesnt charge international transaction fees.
how do you using to get that great bump up ? Share please....

My usage was very similar to the OPs.
I never ran heavy use through it and sometimes only used it once or twice a month for small purchases. It was a credit steps card (though no AF) and I got the boost from $500 to $750 after 5 months. For the whole next year it sat there though month 17, then I logged in one day and almost fell over when I saw my limit jumped by $2k.
I really think Capital One will give you the credit if they dont think you need it.
If I didnt get to see.....
