You were approved for a mortgage with a 645? Congrats.
My rule of thumb is, if you can get approved for a mortgage, you can get approved for an HD credit card.
I got $3000 immediately after showing a mortgage on my report. That was pretty much my lowest CL, so I guess it varies.
The 0% offer is pretty much ongoing. You won't have to worry about it, as I'm nearly positive it will be in effect. Even for existing cardmembers, 90% of the time, they offer 0% for 12 months on any purchase over $299.

I was. I only needed a 620 through Prime Lending.
Its sounds promising. I guess I will just have to see what happens.
This gives me hope - I may need to charge *all* of my appliances soon. My new-to-me house came with the major appliances of "furnace, hot water heater, central air". Need range, refrigerator, dishwasher, washer, dryer...not to mention sink, faucets, cabinets, garbage disposal....

I like this thread!! Congrats to the OP! I just got an offer accepted on my first home purchase and I'm under contract now (so freakin' happy ). I will have to buy a fridge, dishwasher, W/D pretty soon after closing. I have a Best Buy store card with a $4700 limit and was thinking of getting the fridge and W/D from them on 0% financing as I know they price match. I haven't checked Lowes or HD yet. How are they with buying/delivery/setup of the appliances? I hear horror stories of stuff being backordered. I'll probably have to get a card from one of those stores too as I'll have some remodeling projects coming up in the near future. Definitely don't wanna live in the '80s again.
Don't forget to get your 10% Lowes moving coupon(s). I think you can Google it and find it. If I remember correctly, you just give your name and old and new addresses and they'll send you a booklet of "new home" coupons! HD may do the same but I'm not sure.

I can only speak for Lowes as I've bought multiple appliances from them. They'll be able to tell you if they have the items in-store or not. If not, they're able to get them relatively fast (within a week usually). You get an automatic 5% off if it's a floor model. You can dicker with the prices slightly but the appliance staff does work on commission. On the appliance price signs, in small numbers, it actually tells you what their commission will be. They give you a time window and will take your old appliance away if need be. They'll switch your fridge door if you prefer it on the other side and they'll make sure everything works before they leave your home.
I'm a personal friend of my Lowes appliance salesman so your experience may, or may not, differ.
GEMB is a big joke, got denied for Lowes CC with a 700 CS , but got aproved for HD 2000 CL. Also i had one of the walmart credit cards for about 5 years and it was only $250. GEMB and Macys CC are TWO big jokes in my opinion. Not worthed to do business with them!
