The last 3-4 weeks, I've been on a CC applying frenzy.
There's been A LOT of denials, a few approvals.
This is what I currently have now:
Cap1 Secured (opened 3/2011) - CL $351
Old Navy (May 2012) - CL $250 (this one I pay in full every month w/ money I budget for clothes for me & my kids)
Discover Card (6/2012) - $1200 CL
WalMart store card (6/2012) - $400 CL
Chevron/Texaco gas card (6/2012) - $500 CL
Also, as of last Friday, I got my car refinanced through my Credit Union w/ a 60% reduction in the interest rate.
Should I try to get one more CC through my CU to diversify my wallet?
I called & was informed since my CR was pulled last week for the re-finance, they could still use the data from that report. No need to have another one pulled, therefore, no add'l HP.
Thoughts??
My opinion is yes, no HP, no hurt. From what I have heard CU are awesome in that they have much lower APR's and love returning loyalty.
My credit union gave me a credit card using the same pull they used to open my savings account. I would go for it. They also gave me my highest cl yet ...5000.
Got approved w/ a 1k credit limit! YAY!
CONGRATS!

Use it wisely
As someone who has had to dig myself out of the bad credit trenches, I 100% value the practice of using credit wisely!
My plan is to simply use the card to pay one or two bills a month that I already have budgeted, then just use the funds in my checking account budgeted for said bills to PIF each month.

Please tell me that is a typo...
LOL, no typo, my friend.
Went from 8% to 3.49% interest rate.
