Here is my experience with Chase Freedom:
Applied online about 2-3 weeks ago and got the 7-10 message.
Called the backdoor number via this forum and got denied due to: 1 unpaid CO from 2005, high utlization %
Called the backdoor number again a day later and got denied again: same reasons.
Called the backdoor number again a week later and got denied: 2 medical collections 2012
After much work and letters within a week I was able to do the following: 1 unpaid CO removed, 2 medical collections removed from TU ONLY.
Called the backdoor number TODAY, explained my situation and asked if they could pull my TU report. The lovely lady (who I will never forget her name since this has been such an ordeal for me), put me on hold for about 15 minutes then transferred me to the "Verification Specialist" who then asked me a few questions and placed me on hold for about 3 minutes. When he came back on, he congratulated me and said "You're Chase Freedom will come in the mail in 7-10 business days!"
I have fraud alerts on all of my credit reports as well. I was never asked to fax any documents in though, they did ask me a lot of questions that could NOT have been answered by anybody but me, as well as asked me to verify my two previous addresses.
Don't give up hope!
