No, but they said they were not able to due to the freeze, and I even got a letter stating the same thing.

I'm thinking Comenity reviews the account via soft pull every so often, if it shows a freeze, it will show that until the next review.

but that's mute since you don't have a frozen report and they did in fact pull a hp... 

i would submit a letter to comenity executive office saying you didn't authorize a hp (mute point but you can say it) you have a letter that they coudln't pull your report, and then give them a copy of your INQ's from your report where they did infact hp anyway and see if they will submit to remove... otherwise nothing you can do.

Silent points aside: I haven't read of too many cases of hard pulls being removed. IIRC, having an existing relationship pretty much constitutes permissible purpose.

+1.   OP could try disputing, but I highly suspect they'll come back and say this is "permissible use."  However, I think it's still worth seeing if they'd remove the HP as a GW response (or in the sake of good customer service).

How many time have you read the love button didn't work, couldn't wait so I called customer service, and ended up with a hard pull story? This happens so much that it's really hard to blame customer service.

There's no substitute for time when it comes to fixing, building, or rebuilding credit.

+1.   Agreed.   Had OP read that VS typically waits a full 9 months before doing an initial CLI, the HP could have been completely avoided.   It's always a great idea to research and reach out here for help, as there's a great wealth of credit information in this community.  Unwanted HPs can be very frustrating in a rebuild.

Slow and steady wins the race. Trust and believe, I've taken a few ill-advised HPs through impatience, lack of research, 'thought it would be a soft pull', etc... Heck, I even annoyed a Sallie Mae rep so bad he pulled an HP out of spite, LOL!

I guess my point is that we can't undo past mistakes quickly.

Comenity angers me at times. I still wasn't ever able to get the Total Rewards Visa inquiry off they said they never pulled, and of course the CRAs (all of them) tell you to tell the creditor while the creditor tells you to tell them..

Someone should sue the CRAs. They are all lazy and in bed with all the creditors. They daggum commies. LOL JK rant over.
