I'm so mad, I don't even know what to do...
I logged into USAA credit monitoring and refreshed all 3 reports.
A few days ago, I could not get the online CLI button to work, nor the phone system.
So I called, and they said they "could not access my credit reports".
I even got a letter stating such.
So today...there is a brand new inquiry on Exp!
I am livid! I obviously would not apply since I have one, and I DID NOT give them permission to pull my credit!
I am in the garden, and now they just added another hard pull that I already have too many of.
Now I really AM MAD.
I called them, and even after talking to a supervisor, they said:
"We don't know how or why this happened, but if you call the bureau, they will glady remove it".
YA RIGHT!
Any bureau will tell you to contact the creditor.
Anyone?
This really burns...I went into the garden full cold turkey, and they just ruined it.
I have noticed that if someone is borderline, the credit agencey pulls more than one credit report.
For instance, say you have a 780 EQ report, Citi Bank may be happy with just that. However, if you have a 675 EQ report, Citi might just pull an Experian to double check. I get plenty of douple pulls because my file is so thin - whereas someone with a think file might only get a single pull.
Comenity seems to act this way with HPs vs SPs. I noticed some get SPs for cards like the Total Rewards and some get HPs - at least according to the threads.
I suggest you stop apping for credit. I realize its harder than it sounds as I just recently stepped out of the Garden myself when I probably shouldn't have. But it will help you in the long run.
i understand the aggrevation, but this is something that can be easily fixed. First, always expect a HARD, regardless of what company it is. I've read recent posts about comenity doing HP's....so if you press the CLI, you have to expect it. You need to send a copy of your credit report to comenity, noting the issue, and they will then update and change with the CRA's.
"I suggest you stop apping for credit."
I did?
I've had this card for 7 months.

7 months you had this and they HP'd you? Wow, sorry I misread your post - I'd be fuming too!
you can pull a report from experian.com/dispute for adverse actions and dispute the INQ as no permission on that.
Just got off the phone with a supervisor, they said all new CLI's are HPs...
Still, never told me that, never gave them permission.

they are stupid... although if you go through the reps it does seem to be but automated and online are for sure not hp's!!
