All the best advice in the world is useless unless the individual receiving it listens, and acts on it.
I'll use myself as an example.
My credit was in very poor shape for years in spite of great advice from others. Was not until I took responsibility and educated myself on managing it that things really got better. My dad tried for years to "help" me... Finally he made me sink or swim on my own.
Point being sometimes the best way to help somebody, is to make them help themselves.
