If you need any domestic flights, I strongly recommend transfering them to British Airways avios points. What I said may sound strange, but it's because American, US Airways, and Alaska Airlines are all partners. What makes avios so special is that the required point redemption is based upon the length of a flight (in miles). If you can get a direct flight, it can be extremely cheap.

As a result, you can get a one-way domestic flight for as low as just 4500 points (9k roundtrip). So that's $45 for any flight that is <650 miles. Out-of-pocket, a trip like that could cost you $200 one-way, so you're talking more than a 4:1 redemption value rate.

A full miles:avios redemption chart can be found here: http://themilesprofessor.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/BritishAirwaysAwardChart.jpg

A decent guide can be found here: http://themilesprofessor.com/2013/04/23/book-british-airways-avios-alaska-airlines-miles/

You can fly from LAX -> Hawaii for only 12.5k one-way, 25k roundtrip! I'm using my CSP to fund my entire trip to Alaska this summer...and all on Chase's dime! Smiley Very Happy

In short, Chase UR points are worth A LOT more when redeemed to travel partners than simply turning it to cash. That's the whole beauty behind CSP.

After I use up my CSP bonus points, I plan on getting the Chase British Airways CC which currently has a 50,000 bonus points offer. Of course, I'm going to use the avios points with their partners. It's much cheaper to use avios points with Alaska Airlines, for instance, than it is to actually use Alaska Airlines' own card/point system!

Now that's how you maximize your spending....thanks for sharing!!
