CSP for me?

I am about to hit the one year mark of having my credit cards. Since I started a year ago, my scores have went up quite a bit and my credit limits have increased alot! I am looking to change some things up at the year mark and was thinking about closing a few low limit cards (VS, BP, Brylane). Just this year (January) I was approved for Amex Blue Sky and BCE. I opened up the Citi Diamond Preferred and a Home Depot card since the Amex's. I was nervous both times I applied because I don't want to cause any flags to go up with Amex and so far, so good. Anyways, I am foaming at the mouth for the CSP card now that they are having the 40,000 points deal. I was thinking about applying at the end of July so I could get it in time for vacation. Am I at a place where I could quality for that card? Will that really spook Amex if I add another card? My current scores/cards at all in my signature.

When I applied for the Freedom last year, I was only approved for 500.00. My credit was pretty new and my limits were pretty low so I guess that is why that one was low. They auto increased me a few months ago to 1k. They have never increased my BP card so I feel like Chase is alittle more stingy than most other companies. I don't want to try for the CSP if I am going to get a low limit. So what do y'all think?

Re: CSP for me?

You are contemplating the same thing I am! Your CS are good and your accts are aged. Assuming your inq's are not excessive, I'm going on vacation in early Sept and I'm trying to decide CSP or Explorer or both?

Good luck if you decide to app! Supposedly the sign up is better if you app in branch. Food for thought.

Re: CSP for me?

We do not have any Chase branches here in NC. Cat Frustrated  I have about 8-10 inquiries on my eq, 8 on tu and about 15 on my ex. I took some hp's over the last few months for cli's with Discover, Citi and Boa. Do you consider that excessive? I can't remember who Chase pulls. My aaoa is about 8 months on ex & tu but it's alot longer on eq because my home mortgage is still showing up. That will not drop off until next year. If approved, do you think Amex will get spooked over a 3rd card being opened since I opened with them in January?

If you apply in the branch for a card and get declined can you still recon by calling in? Is it more difficult to recon after being denid in a branch?

Re: CSP for me?

Chase usually pulls Ex - similar to Amex but they have also been double/triple pulling too. I don't think Amex will get spooked at all. If they have a problem with inq's, you were seeking new credit just CLI's - they should know about that! Smiley LOL

Congrats on your new ranking!

I'm actually excited for next month when I can get my first spade for time in the garden. It doesn't take much to impress me!
