CSP is awesome!!!!

I saw quite a few people discussing the merits of the CSP a little while back. Many were stating that unless you spend 30-40K a year it's a bad card but I disagree. I'm still in grad school so I don't spend that much but I had to buy suits for my job this summer. Kohls had some good deals and my wife has a Kohls card so we saved 15% on everything. I went to the UR mall and they have a 10x points promotion on Kohls plus another 15% off coupon code. I ended up buying $2100 worth of suits, ties, shirts, pants, shoes and a new watch. I paid less than $1550. With that spend I had enough points to get a BA flight from London to Rome. I checked on the BA website and that flight would have ran me over $400. Me and my wife planned to fly from London to Rome this summer and now we have one of the flights free, for spending 1.5k. If that's not worth a $95 annual fee I don't know what is.

Re: CSP is awesome!!!!

Also I still get 7% on those 15300 points which is over 1000 additional points at the end of the year. The CSP is a great card.

Re: CSP is awesome!!!!

Thanks. I'm just trying to dispel the oft repeated myth that you have to spend like crazy to get value from the CSP.

Well, for spending something you were going to spend anyway, you saved money and a good chunk of it, at that.
