Is alliant around you? If not I would not close boa just because its nice to have a bank to go into if you ever need anything. But I would suggest looking for a local credit union shop around and look for the best rates on what you are looking for. What state do you live in?

Unless you are paying monthly fees, I'd probably keep your BOA accounts open for a while.

 

It's always good to have backups anyway.

I signed up for DCU a couple weeks ago, they have 15 ATMs within 1 mile of my house that are free to use.  Havent switched over anything officially tho.  Was an HP, EQ for opening a checking acct.

For the best possible answer, you'll need to provide your state at minimum, and maybe the closest big city.

 

For example, if you told me you lived in the SF Bay Area, I could make a really good recommendation.

 

Most credit unions are better than a bank. It's not that difficult. Smiley Happy
